This article explores the concept of political mythology and analyzes its potential applications within the contexts of national and international security. The study is developed within the framework of a fundamental research project funded by Caucasus International University and focuses on the interdisciplinary intersection of cognition, political psychology, peace studies, and mythological narratives in political processes.
The research is based on the methodological framework of metacognitive management, a theoretical approach developed by the author for analyzing political behavior, decision-making processes, and crisis management. Drawing on this perspective, the article examines how political myths influence political discourse, public perception, and the formation of political strategies. Particular attention is given to the role of myths in shaping collective identities, mobilizing societies, and influencing political communication.
The study also highlights the relationship between political myths and security issues, emphasizing how mythological narratives can affect political stability, international relations, and conflict dynamics. By analyzing historical and contemporary examples, the article demonstrates how myths can function both as instruments of political influence and as elements of strategic communication within political systems.
Furthermore, the research integrates insights from political psychology and metapolitical analysis to explore how cognitive processes shape political interpretations of mythological symbols and narratives. The article argues that understanding the mechanisms of political mythology can contribute to more effective approaches to crisis management, peacebuilding, and strategic decision-making.
Overall, the study offers an interdisciplinary perspective that connects political theory, psychology, and cultural analysis. Its findings are relevant for scholars, policymakers, and practitioners interested in political communication, security studies, and the role of symbolic narratives in modern political life.
